Beech Class explore Friction
This week, in Science, the children explored Friction. We talked about the ways friction could affect the way we ride our bikes and then we designed and carried out experiments to explore how different materials affect friction using cars and ramps. We applied our findings to real life and discussed how the recent snowy weather affected driving and walking when on icy surfaces.
Our word of the week is “impaled” which means pierce with a sharp instrument. We found this word in our guided reading about dinosaurs but we also know that the Romans would have impaled enemies with spears.
