Reception & Key Stage 1: The school day begins at 9:10am and finishes at 3:30pm

Key Stage 2: The school day begins at 8:50am and finishes at 3:15pm

The Start Of The Day

At Lambley Primary School, punctuality is very important. We encourage children to arrive for our ‘Open Doors’ which starts ten minutes before the register. This helps ensure the children are settled and ready to get their learning off to a good start. A member of staff supervises the children during their settling in activity ready for registration. If you arrive after your child’s start time, you will need to accompany your child to the school reception area so that we can ensure they are signed in and registered.

Assembly

We have a daily Assembly when we gather together for Collective Worship. In addition to this, we regularly invite parents and carers into school for Achievement Assemblies and Class Assemblies.

Our typical weekly Assembly follows this pattern:

  • Monday- PictureNews
  • Tuesday- Values Assembly
  • Wednesday – Singing Assembly
  • Thursday- Inspirational People or School Council
  • Friday-  Reach for the Stars

Morning Playtime

KS2 Morning Playtime is at 10:15am, KS1 is at 10:35am and both last 15 minutes. All of the classes spend this time on the main playground areas, using each of the ‘zones’. They take it in turns to use the Football area or Multi-Sports area.

Lunch Time

Willow, Elm and Birch (our Reception and KS1 Classes) make their way to the hall for their lunch at 11:50am. Our KS2 Classes make their way onto the playground at this time before making their way to the hall at 12:20pm. Children eat their sandwiches or School Dinner in the main school hall, with the classes taking it in turns to use the dinner hall. Once the children have finished, they go outside to play.

Healthy eating is encouraged at Lambley Primary School and we are proud of achieving the Healthy Schools Gold Award. School Dinners are prepared on the premises by our cook, Rachel Zullo. If children prefer to bring their own packed lunch, these should be brought in a clearly named lunch box. We ask that packed lunches are healthy and nutritious. They should not include sweets or fizzy drinks. Please also note that we are a nut-free school.

Afternoon Break time

KS2 children have a 10 minute afternoon break at 1:50pm and KS1 children have a 10 minutes afternoon break at 2pm. Willow Class spend this time in their separate indoor and outdoor play areas.

On a Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoon the whole school come together for a Whole School Afternoon Break at 2pm. During this break, no equipment is used but the children are encouraged to play together and socialise.

Getting To School

To get to and from school, walking is definitely the best option! There are lots of benefits: it’s healthier, it improves the safety of pedestrians and road-users and it reduces parking difficulties. Alternatively, we have a bike and scooter shelter. If you do need to travel by car, please park with care and consideration, avoiding the area opposite the zigzag lines. Please be aware that the school drive is out of use during school drop off and pick up times, except for vehicles requiring disabled access. The safety of our pupils is of paramount importance.
